In the winter of 2014 we launched our independent research project on the natal origins, migratory pathways and winter and breeding habitat use of Rough-legged Hawks. As part of our study we are deploying 10 PTTs in year one of the study on rough-legged hawks on wintering grounds throughout California and the Great Basin. We are already receiving valuable data from the satellite transmitters and are excited about what the Fall Migration will reveal about their habits. Mr. Kidd presented the initial findings at the 2014 Raptor Research Foundation's annual meeting in Texas and at the 2017 annual meeting in Utah.

We also initiated a Peregrine Falcon Study on the North Coast of California in cooperation with Humboldt State University. All transmitters are equipped with ground-tracking technology allowing us to physically track live birds and recover any transmitters on the ground. AL-1 receivers can be purchased through Communications Specialists, Inc
